Kefalonia
A 3-day stay in Kefalonia can still feel rich and memorable if the days are planned with a good balance of sightseeing, swimming and time to enjoy the island’s atmosphere. The goal is not to see everything, but to experience some of Kefalonia’s best-known highlights while still keeping the trip relaxed and enjoyable.
Day 1 — Argostoli, Lassi and an easy island introduction
Start your trip in Argostoli, the capital of Kefalonia, where you can enjoy a relaxed first look at the island. Walk along the waterfront, explore Lithostroto, take in the local atmosphere and enjoy a coffee or brunch before continuing toward nearby Lassi. This is a good first day because it is easy, accessible and ideal after arrival.
Spend the afternoon at one of the nearby beaches in the area, enjoying your first swim in the Ionian Sea. In the evening, return to Argostoli for dinner and a relaxed walk by the harbor. This first day is all about settling into the island and enjoying a gentle introduction without rushing.
Day 2 — Melissani, Drogarati and Sami area
Use your second day to discover some of the most famous natural attractions in Kefalonia. Visit Melissani Cave and Drogarati Cave, two of the island’s best-known highlights, and then continue toward the Sami area for lunch or a seaside stop. This is one of the most classic and rewarding combinations for first-time visitors.
If you want to include beach time, continue to Antisamos or another nearby coastal stop before ending the day with a scenic drive back. This day combines nature, sightseeing and some of the most iconic images of Kefalonia.
Day 3 — Myrtos, Assos and Fiskardo
For your final day, head north and experience some of the island’s most beautiful scenery. Stop at Myrtos for the famous view and, if conditions allow, for a swim. Continue to Assos for a slower village experience and then move on to Fiskardo, where the harbor setting, architecture and atmosphere make a perfect ending to a short stay.
Enjoy lunch or dinner in Fiskardo before returning. This final day brings together the dramatic beauty, elegance and relaxed charm that make Kefalonia unforgettable.
